Luggage
How luggage works on a self-transfer trip
Luggage options
Because your trip is made up of separate tickets, each airline has its own luggage options and fare selection. You can add luggage by selecting the relevant luggage option to each airline separately. What's available depends on the airlines in your booking.
If a luggage option is not available for a particular flight during booking, you may be able to add it directly through the airline after booking your tickets.
Why options vary between flights
Each airline sets its own luggage allowance and weight limits on self-transfer trips, so luggage options can differ between flights. When choosing luggage, make sure the option you select is available for all flights in your trip. If the weight limits of your added luggage differ, make sure your packed luggage meets the lower weight limit.
Collecting and rechecking your luggage
On a self-transfer trip, your checked luggage won't be transferred between flights for you. When you land at your connecting airport, you'll need to collect your bags, go through customs, and check them in again for your next flight.
